LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Latest on Southern California’s strongest earthquake in 20 years (all times local):

9:30 a.m.

A fire official says there were no fatalities or major injuries in Ridgecrest after the 7.1 magnitudes earthquake on Friday night.

Kern County Fire Chief David Witt also said Saturday there were no major building collapses but some structures could be weakened from the back-to-back quakes.

Friday’s quake occurred a day after a magnitude 6.4 quake hit in the same area of the Mojave Desert about 150 miles from Los Angeles.

Witt says there were some power outages and minor gas and water leaks in Ridgecrest, but no known damage outside the area... Read More

Earthquake shuts down NBA Summer League marquee matchup

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The NBA Summer League didn’t get through its first day before it was interrupted by Friday’s earthquakes.

Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett, the No. 1 and No. 3 picks in the NBA draft, in their much anticipated matchup at the Thomas & Mack Center, had their game suspended. Williamson had left the game after banging knees with another player, and the quake stopped the action for good.

Williamson, playing for the New Orleans Pelicans, scored 11 points including four dunks. Barrett, for the New York Knicks, had 10 points.

LIVE: Earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 has jolted Southern California, Nevada

LOS ANGELES (AP) — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 has jolted Southern California, but there are no immediate reports of damage or injuries

The quake caused some damage to buildings and roads in and around Ridgecrest.

87-year-old man subject of North Las Vegas search

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — North Las Vegas police are searching for an 87-year-old man who went missing Friday afternoon.

Robert “Bob” Rascon was reported missing by his family just after noon. He was last seen driving a gray 2008 Chrysler Aspen SUV, with Nevada license plate LV003C.

Rascon, who suffers from severe Alzheimer’s disease and high blood pressure, has not driven a vehicle in more than two years, his family told police.

He left without medication, and did not take a phone or money.

Anyone with information on Rascon’s whereabouts is asked to contact the North Las Vegas Police Department at 702-633-9111.

He is described as a white male, 5-foot-10-inches and 175 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearting a white T-shirt and blue jeans... Read More

Police: Burned body found near 7 Magic Mountains

LAS VEGAS (AP) – Police are investigating the death of a person whose charred remains were found in the desert south of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas police said Friday the report of a body burning on federal land near Nevada’s Seven Magic Mountains art installation was received mid-morning on July 4.

Homicide detectives responded to the site on Bureau of Land Management land and opened an investigation.

Democrat Cory Booker talking about criminal justice reform

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Presidential candidate and senator Cory Booker was in Las Vegas this week campaigning.

During a sit down interview, the Democrat told Politics Now that one of his main goals is criminal justice reform.

“That is what we should be
stepping up for,” Booker said. “America takes on the touch challenges.”

“And one of the tough
challenges we have is we are the land of the free, but one out of every 4
incarcerated people on earth is here in America. This state’s incarcerated
population is growing. We only have 4 to 5 percent of the global population
