Police looking for possible victims of child luring suspect

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Police are concerned there could be more victims in a child luring case after arresting a 36-year-old man earlier in the week.

Shahab Afshar was arrested on April 12 and is facing a charge for Luring a Child to Engage in Sexual Conduct. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

Las Vegas Aviators announce plan to sell game tickets

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Tickets to Las Vegas Aviators games will go on sale May 3, just ahead of their opening night on May 6 against the Sacramento River Cats.

There will be reduced capacity and the tickets will be released on a month-to-month basis, beginning with the 12 home games in May. Tickets will be sold in pods of two and four and there will be limited availability for the home games (May 6-11 vs. Sacramento & May 20-25 vs. Salt Lake). The tickets can be purchased on May 3 starting at noon through Ticketmaster.

Starting April 26, season ticket holders will be offered a presale to select seats for games in May. Full season, half season and quarter season plans will be able to use their account credit as a ticket bank. These purchases will not require any additional payments... Read More

UPDATE: Metro investigating human remains found in backyard of home near Lake Mead and Rampart

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A "death investigation" is under way at a home in the northwest valley.

Metro Homicide Lt. Ray Spencer says human remains were found in the backyard of a home in the 8300 block of Shore Breeze, near Rampart Boulevard and Lake Mead Boulevard.

Police are processing the scene for forensic evidence today.

NEW: COVID-19 test positivity up to 5.7%; Nevada reports more than 500 cases

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Nevada's test positivity increased to 5.7% as the state reported more than 500 new cases for the second day in a row, according to data released on Friday.

Nevada’s COVID-19 test positivity rate climbed above 5% on Monday, and has been steadily rising for the past 13 days. The increase on April 3 was the first time in nearly three months that the test positivity rate grew, as it had been falling since Jan. 13.

Most of the state’s cases 536 confirmed virus cases came from Clark County, which had 455. Nevada’s total cases are now at 310,235. Clark County has a total of 239,748.

Dream Team: Olympic shot put hopeful coached by wife

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) - Joe Kovacs is the reigning Olympic silver medalist in the shot put. He's also a favorite for another medal in Tokyo.

From the weight room to the throwing circle to the kitchen, it's hard to find Joe without his wife, Ashley too far away.

That's because the two aren't just husband and wife. They are also athlete and coach.

"It really kicked off in 2017 after a U.S. Championships," explains Joe about the beginning of their relationship. "We started talking. She sent me a bottle of almond butter that she made for me. I brought it to the World Championships back in 2017 and came back with a silver medal for it. Because of all that talking and that almond butter, I packed up all my things and came here to Ohio. Police: Medical episode may be cause of fatal crash at Flamingo, Durango

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A 56-year-old man is dead following a crash in southwest Las Vegas Friday morning. Police believe the crash may have been the result of a medical episode.

According to Metro Police, the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. near Flamingo Road and Durango Drive which caused the intersection to be closed for about three hours.
