Hash House a Go Go Holds Job Fair for New Location

LAS VEGAS -- Desperate job seekers can find on-site interviews at a new restaurant set to open in the next few weeks at the M Resort. Hash House a Go Go is looking for about 100 people to staff it's newest eatery.

People are hoping to call Hash House a Go Go their new employer when it opens inside the M in October. Most never expected to be interviewed on the spot, but that's something Hash House owners say is an added bonus in a competitive job market.

"We are actually filling out an application here and we are actually going to get an interview and that's wonderful. They should all be that way. At least you have an opportunity to present yourself," said job seeker Tawni Gage.

Gage has been without a job since 2008. She showed up to the this job fair with her husband, who's also out of work, resume in hand and plenty of experience. She says this job fair wasn't what she was expecting and she was surprised to actually sit down with hiring managers.

She says she's hopped from job fair to job fair throughout the city and says most of them just ask you to fill out the application online after waiting in line for hours to apply in person.

This is the third Hash House a Go Go to open in the valley. Owner Jim Rees isn't letting the down economy from hurting him.

"We haven't cut back. We haven't changed our portions or quality and I think it's really paid off for us. We have looked in a lot of areas over here and when the M came to us and offered these opportunities for us to take look, we felt it was the perfect opportunity," he said.

Rees was at the job fair and will be back Wednesday as well. He says this is also a key to his success -- talking one on one to potential employees. From line cooks, hosts, to wait staff, close to 100 positions are up for grabs. Make sure you are ready for an site interviews, and bring your resumes.
