New Henderson Homes Must Have Sprinkler Systems
Housing

HENDERSON, Nev. -- Henderson has become the first municipality in the valley to require fire sprinklers in new homes.

The Henderson City Council voted to pass a provision in its residential code Tuesday night. Now, all new homes will be built with fire sprinkler systems. The Henderson Fire Department says the sprinklers will be able to put water onto a fire within 15 to 90 seconds much faster than firefighters can respond. It will cost around $5,000 to install the systems in each new home.
