Business

LAS VEGAS -- Station Casinos, which has 18 properties around southern Nevada, has announced it plans to fill more than 1,000 positions throughout the company.

About 500 of those positions will be full-time jobs and the rest will be part-time. The majority of the hiring will be done over the next two months and is focused on the company's guest services.

"We know we're in the most competitive gaming market in the world and our guests have a lot of choices when it comes to entertainment, which is why we need to ensure that we earn our guests' loyalty each and every day by providing the best service and value possible," said Kevin Kelley, Chief Operating Officer of Station Casinos.

There are openings at all 18 Station Casino properties, and anyone can apply, even if you don't have casino experience.

"There will be some positions that are very entry level to those that need some specific training," said Lori Nelson with Station Casinos.

The openings are for guest services, everything from front desk help, cleaning services, dealers, food and beverage and more. Nelson says they are looking to fill them fairly quickly. She says they want to start making calls next week and get the qualified candidates in for interviews right away.

Station Casinos filed for bankruptcy last year as part of their restructuring plan. According to Nelson, they want to improve on their guest experiences. By hiring more staff, they believe they can accomplish that.

"We believe staffing up, we can do an even better job. That it's quicker service, more attentive service coming your way," she said.
