UPDATE: Police no longer investigating body found on Flamingo as a homicide

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Metro Police say they are no longer investigating Tuesday’s incident on Flamingo Road as a homicide.

Initially, police believed the man found in bushes early Tuesday morning on East Flamingo Road near Paradise Road, had been shot. Now, officials say they have learned the man, described as being in his 50s, sustained an accidental injury on a nearby fence.

According to police, two men walking along Flamingo Road discovered the body around 4:40 a.m. and ran to a nearby fire station for help. Firefighters responded and tried to help the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is no longer a LVMPD Homicide investigation.

The identification of the man, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Flamingo was closed Tuesday morning as LVMPD conducted their investigation.
