Green Valley High Receives $100,000 Donation from Rivera Family | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Green Valley High School received Thursday a $100,000 donation on behalf of former teaching assistant Linda Rivera.
Family and friends of Rivera present GVHS administrators with the donation at the school's winter sports banquet.
Along with Rivera's service in the classroom, her husband, Richard, has been a dedicated supporter of sports programs, in which their two recently graduated sons were involved in wrestling and soccer. A majority of the funds will go toward wrestling and science activities. Additional programs such as the ProStart culinary curriculum, Best Buddies and autistic/special needs groups will benefit from the donation.
