Henderson Police Arrest Suspect in Crowbar Robberies

A Las Vegas man is under arrest in connection with two attempted robberies. Henderson Police say the man tried to rob two different convenience stores using a crowbar.

The Criminal Apprehension Team arrested 24-year-old Christopher Jimerson Wednesday. Police say on May 30, Jimerson walked into the Speedee Mart on Horizon Ridge Parkway pointed a gun at the clerk, ordered her to the floor and tried to open the safe. They say he used a crowbar to try to pry open the store safe. He could not open it and left without any money.

Police say a few days later Jimerson tried again. On June 7, officers say he walked into the 24/7 Xpress store on Stephanie Street. He again pointed the gun at the clerk and ordered him to the floor. He then tried to pry open the store safe with a crowbar. Again, he was unsuccessful.

He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on two counts of attempted robbery, two counts of burglary with a deadly weapon and two counts of destruction of property.
