Henderson Police Hunt Child Kidnapping Suspect

HENDERSON, Nev. -- A man wanted for kidnapping a Henderson girl and holding a cab driver hostage is still on the run. Police have released surveillance video from that day with the hope that someone will help them find him.

28-year-old Matthew Hayward may be in California, but police believe he could also be headed back to Henderson. A local gas station employee says the suspect was in his store Saturday with the little girl, but they seemed like the average customer.

"It was around 1 o'clock in the afternoon. She didn't appear to be distressed or anything, according to the cashier. But then again, you never can tell," said gas station Assistant Manager James Wellesely.
