LHS Student to Appear on Nevada Newsmakers

Liberty High School senior Bryce Petersen will be a guest on Nevada Newsmakers this month for the show's 9th Annual Teen Edition.  Petersen will be a guest political pundit and will join with eight other students on the panel.

Petersen was chosen after he submitted an application to be on the show.  He was encouraged by his AP Government instructor, Bryan Lynaugh. 

"I have seen many examples of [Bryce's] talent and have long been impressed by his diligence and work ethic," Lynaugh said.  "I couldn't be more pleased with the decision [Nevada Newsmakers] made in selecting Bryce to represent [Liberty] on this show."

The group of nine students will discuss current events as they show's producers try and find the next generations opinion.  Politics and other issues facing the state of Nevada will be among the topics.  Petersen is more than prepared to be significant contributor on the panel.

"Bryce has in-depth knowledge when it comes to government and displays that knowledge in the classroom," Lynaugh said.

Petersen will travel to Reno on Thursday morning and immediately be driven to KRNV studios. The taping of the show will be at 8:30 a.m. and following the the conclusion of the show, the nine students will be treated to lunch in Reno before returning to Las Vegas that afternoon.
