Events

The Crazy Spokes cycling event is set for this Saturday at Mission Hills Park in Henderson, and this year's event is being sponsored by the Josh Stevens Foundation as part of the National Bullying Prevention Month.

Riders will go on a 30-mile course starting at 7:30 a.m. A family-friendly festival will follow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Registration for the ride is $15. The bike parade, which starts at 11:30 a.m., is $1 to enter. To register for the ride, go to bikehenderson.org and use the activity code 683002-58.

The Josh Stevens Foundation is dedicated to its Be Kind campaign which encourages people, especially children, to be kind to one another. Participants will be given a "Be Kind" T-Shirt. Plus, the Henderson Police Department will hold a procession around the park to honor the boy the foundation honors. Josh Stevens died in a 2008 golf cart accident. He was only 13 years old. His birthday would have been Oct. 5.
