Wayne Newton Due in Vegas Court on Eviction Case | News

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A Nevada judge is due to hear arguments about whether iconic Las Vegas Strip entertainer Wayne Newton and his wife should be evicted from the opulent home they've lived in since 1968.

The 70-year-old Newton is expected in court for the Monday afternoon hearing about whether he and wife Kathleen stay in the mansion they sold to a developer who planned to turn it into a tourist attraction.

Newton and his estranged business partner-turned-landlord, Steven Kennedy of CSD LLC, have traded allegations of breach of contract, fraud, mismanagement, animal abuse and sexual harassment.

Kennedy bought the sprawling estate for $19.5 million in June 2010 with plans to build the Newtons a $2 million home on the grounds and convert the gold-trimmed main house into a kind of "Graceland West."
