HENDERSON, Nev. -- A motorcyclist is dead and a pedestrian injured following a crash Wednesday at Eastern Avenue and Wigwam Parkway.

According to Henderson Police spokesperson Keith Paul, the motorcyclist collided with a car driven by a 19-year-old woman as she was making a left turn onto Wigwam from Eastern. She was not injured.

The man riding the motorcycle died at the scene.

The impact of the crash caused the motorcycle to hit a 27-year-old man who was standing near a light pole. That person was transported to Sunrise Hospital in unknown condition.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed before the crash.

Henderson police officers are investigating and there are traffic delays in the area.

Twelve people have died in nine traffic wrecks in Henderson this year.
