Metro Officer Hit by Drunk Driver Thursday Morning | News

LAS VEGAS -- A Metro police officer has been transported to an area hospital this morning after being struck by a vehicle as he was waiting for a tow truck from a previous accident at the 10000 block of Maryland Pkwy.

According to police, around 5:30am, the officer was waiting for a tow truck to arrive around from a prior accident at Maryland Pkwy and Pyle Ave, when he was struck by a drunk driver.

The officer was transported to University Medical Center with none life threatening injuries. The driver who struck the officer was arrested.  Maryland Pkwy is shut down in both directions.
