Volunteers Bringing the Message of Pool Safety

Several groups will be bringing the message of pool safety to the community, during an event Saturday.

Henderson firefighters, the American Red Cross Southern Nevada Chapter and Rockstar Pool Care will be part of a safe pool rules news conference at the City of Henderson Fire Station 98 at Coronado Center Drive and Horizon Ridge Parkway.

Following the news conference, at about 11 a.m., volunteers will walk through Henderson neighborhoods bringing the message of pool safety to as many people as possible.

They'll be handing out information about drowning prevention, including a door hanger that outline the A, B, C, & D's of drowning prevention.

Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death in southern Nevada for young children. An average of eight children die every year in the Las Vegas valley.
