Town Square Restaurants Supporting Kids With Cancer in September

Town Square Restaurants Supporting Kids With Cancer in September

Several Town Square restaurants are showing their philanthropic side this September by partnering with Cure 4 The Kids Foundation and offering a way for the public to support Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

A portion of sales from various items on the menus will go to Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that funds the Children's Specialty Center. It is the only nonprofit pediatric cancer outpatient treatment center in the state of Nevada.

Unfortunately, families throughout southern Nevada learn everyday that cancer is a life-changing event.  Many will also learn that the health insurance they thought would cover their children's diagnosis doesn't begin to address all of their needs. Those without any health insurance will see their options for treatment severely limited.

Restaurant critic says Republic Kitchen and Bar is exactly what the Green Valley and Henderson areas need.

"This way to one crazy happy hour," said the sidewalk-chalk sign on the pavement outside Republic Kitchen & Bar, which is in Las Vegas but close enough to Henderson to be confusing.

East Ocean Packing Them in with Tasty Dim Sum

Reviewer: plan ahead to avoid a wait, but even a wait is worth it at this Eastern Avenue eatery.

Dim sum in Henderson? Yup, and the word is out; when we arrived at East Ocean on a weekday afternoon, we had to wait for a table.

LAYERS is Hard Not to Like Despite Appellation

LAYERS is Hard Not to Like Despite Appellation

Curtas: service slow, but good food abounds at Layers.

It’s hard not to like Layers, even if you loathe the appellation. It is one of many bakery/cafes springing up around town (Bread and Butter, Chocolate & Spice) faster than steakhouses on the Strip. But the name gives us pause.
