Henderson City Hall and Municipal Court will be closed Monday, January 21 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Toys "R" Us Preparing for 88 Hours of Shopping

 

Two Toys "R" Us stores are getting ready to stay open for 88 continuous hours this weekend.

The store in Henderson and the store in North Las Vegas will open their doors at 6 a.m. Friday and stay open through 10 p.m. Christmas Eve.

As part of the shopping event, the toy giant will be putting dozens of high-demand toys on sale Friday and Saturday. The stores will also be open for their buy online, pickup at the store program.

The Toys "R" Us Express and Outlet stores will be open during their regular hours.

Henderson Police Step Up Patrols Around Busy Shopping Centers

Henderson Police will be stepping up efforts to protect shoppers during the busy holiday shopping season.

Starting Friday, the department will increase patrols in areas where people will be shopping. Officers will be in uniform looking out for citizens and in plain clothes looking for thieves who prey on busy shoppers.

“Every year someone becomes the victim of a criminal stealing newly purchased presents,” Henderson Police Chief Patrick Moers said. “This year we will have more Henderson Police officers around the areas where people are shopping.”

Officers are reminding people to do their part to protect themselves and their property.

A gourmet candy shop is offering free lollypops Friday for National Lollypop Day.

See’s Candies is offering a free pop at anyone of its four stores around the Las Vegas valley. The store is also offering discounts on boxes of lollypops until Monday.

While at the shop, people can also enter to win a trip to San Francisco to see the See’s Lollypop Factory.

See’s locations and closing times Friday:

New Location of Patty's Closet to Open Near Galleria

 

The sixth southern Nevada location of women’s boutique Patty’s Closet will host a grand opening Saturday morning.

The celebration will begin at 11 a.m. at 605 Mall Ring Circle in Henderson, directly outside the Galleria Mall.

The new store will continue with the existing Patty’s Closet concept and carry only six of each style in sizes small, medium and large. All shoppers will receive 20 percent off their purchase on this day. As an added incentive to those who arrive early, goodie bags will be handed out to the first 100 guests who make purchases.

Toys "R" Us to Offer Round-the-Clock Shopping

 

Holiday shoppers may be happy to know that Toys “R” Us will be offering round-the-clock shopping starting Tuesday.

The toy store giant will open the doors of stores around the country at 6 a.m. Tuesday, December 20 and stay open until 10 p.m. Friday, December 23. It will also have a two-day sale from Tuesday through Wednesday. In all the stores will be open 112 uninterrupted hours.

The Toys “R” Us stores in Henderson at 1425 W. Sunset Road and the one in North Las Vegas at 7020 North 5th Street will be part of the around-the-clock shop event.

Outdoor Movies Return at The District

 

The fifth season of The District’s popular outdoor movie screening series, The Outdoor Picture Show, presents free movies under the stars that the whole family can enjoy. 

Screenings take place at 8 pm every Friday and Saturday at dusk through October at The Green, located adjacent to Whole Foods Market. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets to sit on, and picnic baskets with snacks to enjoy. Complimentary popcorn is provided.
