Henderson Hosting Two Bike Fairs

The city of Henderson is hosting two bike fairs this month as part of its effort to be named a Bicycle Friendly Community.

The first fair will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road.

The second will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Multigenerational Center, 250 South Green Valley Parkway.

At the fairs, residents will learn how to safely ride their bikes, the top places to ride a bicycle in the city and the amenities offered by the city, the Henderson Police Department, the Regional Transportation Commission and the Clark County School District.

The city is looking to earn the title of Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists. It would be the first community in the southern Nevada to earn the designation.

It is also asking for feedback from citizens about what it can do to become more bicycle friendly. People are being asked to provide input on ways to improve parks, trails and roads for bicycles.
