Lane Reductions and Shifts Start for Cactus Avenue Interchange

Lane reductions and shifts will start next week along I-15 for construction of the Cactus Avenue interchange.

Starting Wednesday, May 29 through the end of the year, northbound I-15 will be reduced from three lanes to two lanes between the Silverado Ranch and St. Rose Parkway interchanges.

It is just the beginning of a series of lane shifts and reductions as a complete interchange is built connecting Cactus Avenue with I-15.

In June, southbound I-15 traffic will be shifted to the northbound side of the freeway, while crews create three southbound and two northbound lanes on the southbound side of the freeway. When that work is finished, traffic will be shifted to the southbound side.

The $62 million project is designed to relieve traffic congestion along the freeway and at the two nearby interchanges.

The project is expected to last 18 months.
