Anti-graffiti Artwork of Local Fifth Graders Unveiled on RTC Transit Vehicle

LAS VEGAS – The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) honored Krista Kachnik of John Dooley Elementary School as the grand prize winner of this year’s anti-graffiti art contest. Her winning artwork was unveiled on a 40-foot RTC vehicle before an audience of friends and family.

The RTC vehicle also showcased the artwork of first runner-up Fermin Perez of Ruby Thomas Elementary School. The students’ designs were selected as the top two finalists in the fourth annual art contest designed to educate local students that the difference between art and graffiti is permission.

The RTC again partnered with the Southern Nevada Graffiti Coalition, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Vector Media Las Vegas to sponsor the art contest.
