Photo Gallery | St. Rose Dominican Celebrates 65 Years of Caring
It was 65 years ago that seven Adrian Dominican Sisters traveled from Michigan to Henderson to take over the old Basic Magnesium Hospital.
That hospital is now known as St. Rose Dominican Hospitals-Rose de Lima Campus. It has provided care and services for people from around southern Nevada. The hospital celebrated its anniversary Wednesday. Twelve sisters from the original order still work in the St. Rose Dominican System, which now includes Siena Campus and San Martin.
The celebration included a mass performed by Bishop Joseph Pepe. He also blessed the hands of any employee who wanted to participate, which is a sign of care and healing in the Catholic faith.
