Henderson to Host Free Food Program for Children

HENDERSON -- The city of Henderson will help fight hunger this summer through a free food service program.

Henderson just received a sponsorship from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Service to host the USDA's Summer Food Service Program. From June 7th through August 6th,  kids between the ages of 2-years-old to 18-yearsold can get free breakfast and lunch at schools participating in the program. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 9 a.m. with lunch served from 12 to 12:30 p.m.

The schools taking part in the summer program are:

  • Robert Taylor Elementary School at 144 Westminster Way
  • Gordon McCaw Elementary School at 57 Lynn Lane
  • Edna Hinman Elementary School  at 450 Merlayne Dr.
