HENDERSON, Nev.-- The 72-year-old woman who was hit and killed while crossing the street in Henderson Saturday evening has been identified.

The Clark County Coroner's Office said Janice Hutchison died from multiple blunt force trauma.

Henderson Police said Hutchison was struck by a car around 6:45 p.m. when she was crossing Green Valley Parkway, which is south of Sunset.

Witnesses told police Hutchison was crossing against the traffic signal when she was struck by an 88-year-old man driving a 2005 Hyundai sedan.

Authorities said the 72-year-old was in critical condition when she was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where she later died.

The driver, who hasn't been named, did not sustain any injuries, but two southbound lanes of traffic were closed for about three hours because of the crash.

Investigators said they don't believe speed or alcohol was a factor.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation by Henderson Police.

This is the eleventh traffic-related death in Henderson this year.
