Driving You Crazy: Traffic at Anthem Highlands & Democracy
News

HENDERSON, Nev. - Karina and Christine say they see traffic problems every morning at Anthem Highlands Drive and Democracy Drive. They say they are concerned the area may be a safety hazard.

Last October, the City of Henderson considered adding a roundabout to this area to help with the delays. Traffic8 reached out to Henderson and received an update. Henderson representatives say, because of right-of-way limitations, a roundabout will not work.

Instead, Henderson is pursuing a traffic signal. This would allow two new right turn lanes, as well as two new left turn lanes. They say this will significantly decrease the congestion.

While Henderson is working out the kinks with the new light, city workers plan to make the intersection tolerable by constructing a "free right." That would ease traffic for drivers turning right onto Anthem Highlands from Democracy and would allow traffic to move continuously through the intersection.
