City of Henderson to Officially Open New Park
The city of Henderson will open a new park this Saturday.
Whitney Mesa Recreation Area will officially open with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. Besides a ribbon cutting, the event will include activities and tours of the park.
The park is behind Whitney Ranch Recreation Center/Aquatic Complex, 1661 Galleria Drive.
Lighted tennis courts, barbecues, picnic shelters, a lighted basketball court, open grass area and a playground are just some of the amenities at the new park. A BMX area is still under construction.
Funding for the $14.1 million park came through a grant by the Bureau of Land Management.
